The hill stations in Kerala offers some of the best spectacular views of the nature. Almost in the entire district the hills gives the tourist an energizing atmosphere.

Trekking, rock climbing and other adventures activities can be enliven in ones journey to these hills stations of Kerala.

Nelliyampathy: This fascinating hill station is at a height of 467 to 1572 m above sea level. At least 10 hair pin bends have to be negotiated on the ghat road that passes through the breathtaking evergreen forests of the Sahya Ranges. Seethakundu at Nelliyampathy offers a panoramic view of about one third of Palakkad sightseeing.

Attappady: A beautiful synthesis of mountains, rivers and forests, Attappady is of great interest to anthropologists. This is the habitat of many tribes like the Irulars and Mudugas. The Malleeswaran peak is worshipped as a gigantic Sivalinga by the Adivasis who also celebrate the Sivarathri festival with great fervour. A PWD Rest House, a VIP Guest House and a few private hotels offers accommodation at Agali.

Dhoni: It takes a three hour trek from the base of the Dhoni hills, to reach this reserve forest area with its small, beautiful waterfall. This hill country is the delight of trekkers. The community hall at Kalikatty is used as a camping base for trekkers.

The castles of Scotland, towering against the craggy coastline, are the most enduring symbols of Scotland. The snow capped mountains and the green rolling meadows add to the charm of the region. The lochs, or lakes, dotting Scotland are where the lines between legend and reality blur, exemplified by the de facto state symbol, the Loch Ness Monster.

Hi,

A small town in the hills of Kumaon, Nainital is a lovely hill station surrounded by mountains on three sides. Once this area had many lakes and it was called the City of 60 lakes or 'Chakta'.

Hill station is a term used for a town usually at somewhat higher elevations. The term was used in colonial Asia (particularly India, but also in Africa albeit rarely), where towns have been founded by European colonial rulers up where temperatures are cooler, as refuges from the summer heat. Some of the hill stations were founded after independence from the colonial era, such as Genting Highlands in Malaysia. In the Indian context most hill stations are at an altitude of approximately between 1,000 and 2,500 metres (3,500 to 7,500 feet); very few are outside this range
